Fame at last...

I had a mail from a Canadian friend of mine the other day, informing me that my outstanding contribution to her country had now been formalised by there being a road named after me.

Not before time, it has to be said...

Can any (either) of my readership lay claim to such a proud boast?

Probably not. Let's be honest, it's not everyday you get a road named after you in a place you've never been (or even heard of)...

Yes, Tim, but with such a common name it's hardly a surprise is it...? ;)

I looked to see if there was a Katie Allen road but I don't think there is...

Gutted.

I do know another Andrew Hill though! You're so common. Maybe that road was named after him...

Wright, Allen, Hill, Jones?

I'm afraid you're all pretty common in the surname stakes...

John - between Highbury and Dalston, just off Essex Road is...
Mitchinson Road

Your road is about 3 mile form your uni...

Tim, I've come to the conclusion that you actually know everything.

(I'm basing that on Twinkies and Mitchinson Road, but I think that's proof enough...)

But I'm glad John didn't know about that road, as he probably would've incorporated it into Monopoly day and extended the walk by another 3 hours.

I've got a street named after me but they used my middle name and surname. As I'm not too impressed with my middle name I'll leave you to work it out (over to you Mr Magic).

Going out on a limb here...

At the rear of New Scotland Yard, there is a street that is home to the Metropolitan Police Authority, named Dean Farrar St

Am I wildly off the mark or somewhere near right?

Tim, you seem to have an impressive amount of useless information stored in your brain.

Do you do pub quizzes?!

Timmy Magic said...

I did one once and we came last cos it was all music before I was born and obscure non-league football trivia

There is a place named after my really famous husband - Keithall in Scotland. It was a thrill ....for him! OR was HE named after IT?

Katie said...

Andy, was that a hint that Tim should come to quiz night?

I think it was ;)

Tim, you should come! And be on Andy and V's team (it's ok, Glyn is also on their team to ensure the clever-dumb balance is restored...)

Andy said...

A kind of hint.

And did you hear me mention the clever/dumb balance last night?

Or is it two great minds thinking alike? ;)

You saddo Tim knowing that!

Our cell group team (The Assorted Nuts) have done two quizzes recently. Unfortunately the second was a teetotal event which meant we lost our advantage because all the other teams were sober as well. At "normal" quizzes the other teams have usually indulged too much by the end which is hopefully to our advantage.

To be fair I did spent a whole day stood on the very road I mentioned because of a building collapse! Much of that day was spent wondering if John F had any relatives called Dean

Tim, according to multimap, it's actually Mitchison Road. And I got all excited there! But I will check my A-Z, just in case it really is Mitchinson Road, and no doubt a photo will appear on my blog in the not too distant future.

And Andy, I noticed today that it is your wife's blogging birthday. Now, will she be celebrating her year of bloggage? :)

I doubt it, she's busy working on essays and unaware of it I reckon...

Wow! I was mistaken - that doesn't happen often! That was what Google Maps showed me, and it was mistaken! Panic over
