The wind knocked right out of my sails...

...y'see, I had all these ideas for a blog post. As I lay in bed yesterday I was thinking it was about time I wrote something new, updated you all on the fascinating developments with my fireplace, told you what a lovely time we had on Saturday with my brother, sister-in-law and niece going to see Thomas the Tank Engine and friends at Chappell/Wakes Colne, and even time I wrote something serious but then I got up and started doing stuff, then when I browsed the logs later I looked at Glyn’s latest post, forgot what I wanted to say and decided not to say much for now, firstly because I'd advise you to check out his blog/vlog/vblog or whatever he wants to call it, and secondly 'cos I then forgot what it was I wanted to say. It was something deep and meaningful though, that much I remember...

But because I can't remember everything I did want to say I'll distill it down to this:

Thank you, Rich, Nicola and Bethany for a lovely day on Saturday. We love spending time with you but probably don't tell you enough.

And so as not to disappoint all those of you desperate to know how the house is looking, here's the latest picture of the fireplace...

eiI've been checking this blog every day for an update on the fireplace.

Yay!

And yes, everybody should get ridiculous amounts of holiday. On Friday, I get a month's pay for doing absolutely nothing...

Hey hey bredrin. Guess who's back on the Glyn Harries bogroll...

The fireplace is looking nice Grandma - although I'm going to miss those urinal tiles you had.

I spoke to Matt yesterday. Didn't realise until he told me that you were actually supposed to be working on Sunday rather than spending a whole day vlogging.

Seriously fella, you make me look hard-working...

And I'm missing those urinal tiles too. You knows it.

Oh, and Katie, I'm just not talking to you.

Vlogging? Wow, are you starting a new trend?

Katie said...

So... never thought I'd ask this, but how's the fireplace?

Andy said...

I'm sure you'll be invited to see it for yourself in the near future, Miss Allen...

Is there going to be an official Fireplace unveiling??? I'm available to cut the ribbon if needed?? Sorry, don't mean to sound desperate, it's just that ever since I stopped collaborating with Glyn, the work has just dried up, I didn't even get any offers for panto this year.....;-)

Graeme I think this calls for a CrossStage reunion. We could be great again (just think final scene from Chicago where thingy and thingy join up).

I know what we need - a script-writing evening!!!

Liz said...

Sorry to be a bit behind on this planned reunion, but can I say that I think it would be a great idea. :)

Yeah! CrossStage! Please please please?!?!?! It would be sooo cool. You guys were really funny! You could do an evant at Romford - we are going to start having evening events once a week! you could do one of them!

Unknown said...

oops! I meant once a month!

Graeme said...

Hmmmm - well I suppose Take That and The Spice Girls have done it!! Reunions seem to be the in thing at the moment!!!!

Just to clarify Glyn, would a script writing evening involve getting together, messing around for a couple of hours, going for a curry and then realising that we hadn't actually written anything??!!!

And do we have it written into the contract this time that Lewis has to forget his words??!!!

I reckon Andy's not blogging at the moment, just so he can get loads and loads and loads of comments on the one post...

loads and loads and loads

Yeah Andy, you MUST have finished working on your fireplace by now! Drag yourself away and GET BLOGGING!

Oh, there's nothing like a really good shout to clear away the cobwebs, or is there? There you go, inspiration for you next blog :)

In Mr Hill's defence, he has been away for the past week!

Mitchenstein said...

well then, he'll be really happy when he comes home and sees how many comments he's got!

Katie said...

Not when he realises that most of them are from you John!

Glyn Harries said...

Oh my goodness. When I saw this many comments I assumed it was mostly spam/junk comments. This is more commenting than I've ever seen anywhere.

But seeing as none of these comments are about the fireplace anymore it's like we're using Andy's blog for our own forum. We're like cyber-squatters.

Graeme it seems by popular demand (thanks Liz and Kirsty) we should bring CrossStage back. And if we're going to insist upon memory shortage in Lewis' contract we should also include the "getting defensive with the audience" clause as well.

Am well up for a non-writing curry evening. Name the day and place. Any other aspiring writers/procrastinators want to join?

Liz said...

Yey! I LOVE CrossStage - woah loads of s's

Andy said...

I'm well up for some curry. I seem to remember having not contributed anything to one of your previous writing evenings. Well, apart from coming up with some theologically iffy curries...

Oh, and by the way I'm back at home, but thanks for all your comments.

Guess I should post something soon but I'm kinda busy. I've got a wedding DVD to do that's already 13 months late...

so I know I'm new to your blogs and that the fireplace story is I'm sure one that has gripped your regular readers but I would just like to congratulate you loads andy for making me laugh by making such a big deal out of some wood and brick.

Lisa, with all due respect (be grateful, it's infinitely more than I tend to grant Glyn), shurrup!

Heh, rumbled Mitch.

I may never blog again but instead just leave people to post comments here...

Hmmm, I will consider the requests for "Cross Stage Rides again" (Working title I think) Although I want it written into MY contract that this time there will be no requirement for me to spend a large amount of time in a Wheely Bin in Leicester!
